Redwood Decks with Hog Wire Handrails

We constructed both front and back decks for this fire rebuild in Mark West Springs. The home is situated on a sloped lot with more space in front of the house than behind. The front deck is larger and is perfect for entertaining, which the homeowners enjoy doing. This deck will be easy to maintain because we used heart redwood. This type of wood is kiln dried and has very low moisture. That means it’s more resistant to cracking and splitting. We bordered the deck with powdered-coated hog wire, which is rust-resistant and gives the deck a modern feel.

  • This large front deck will be perfect for entertaining.
  • We used a custom stain to protect the woodwork.
  • This large front deck will be perfect for entertaining.
  • This home is located in a more rural location; the latticework will prevent animals from getting under the deck.
  • The hog wire border is powder-coated, which will prevent rust.
  • This deck, like most of our deck work, was constructed with clear heart redwood, which resists cracking better.
  • The large deck takes advantage of the pristine setting.
  • The smaller back deck also features high-quality clear heart redwood.
  • The back deck will be a private retreat for the homeowners.
  • We also poured a concrete walkway to transition the deck to the yard.
